Home base of the James Perse design team, this structure houses: marketing, furniture design, clothing design, architectural design, product design and is critical in defining the brand/image of the company. James had a deep collaborative process during the design of this building characterized by utilizing the same proportions of architectural elements from micro to macro scales and painstakingly refining intimate details in a way that is true to the purity of his brand. This design aesthetic and process is completely unique to Southern California, blending the meditative surfing culture with the delicate refinement of high design. This level of care was not only placed in the architecture itself, but also in the programmatic layout of the spaces. Most of the design time was spent studying the design process within the company to better understand what layout would work best to meet the needs of the production team.
