Santa Clara is comprised of two single family dwellings separated by a courtyard with a pool and is surrounded by a series of gardens. Designed as an art collector’s gallery, retreat and a place of collaboration, this residence will be an event space for countless art showings by private collectors from around the world. Conceptually the structure provides landscaping at various levels to create abstractions of natural environments which make patrons forget that they are in an urban setting. The wire mesh facade is used to shade the Southern Sun, provide privacy in the main hallway on the upper level and breakdown the scale of the facade.
